Dr. Edward Childs
Dr. Edward Childs graduated from Mexia High School, where he was voted Mr. MHS and Most Likely to Succeed. He enrolled at Navarro College and received an M.C. and Mattie Caston Graduate Scholarship, which he used to complete his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Dallas with a major in molecular biology. He earned his M.D. degree from Texas A&M College of Medicine and later completed post graduate studies at the University of California at Davis.
Currently Dr. Childs is the Chair and Professor for Trauma and Critical Care at the Moorehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Childs give credit for much of his success to his time at Navarro College, stating, “that is where it all began.” Navarro College is proud to count Dr. Edward Childs among its successful alumni.
